高校よりダンスを始め、その後伊藤直子に師事、2003年よりダンスカンパニー マドモアゼル・シネマに所属。国内、海外含め全公演に参加。2008年文化庁芸術祭参加 “不思議な場所”にて新人賞受賞。2011年ポーランド/グリフィノ国際フェスティバル/シェツコバニエ2011“不思議な場所”にて観客賞受賞。また、ピナバウシュヴッパタール舞踊団ダンサーのJean Laurant Sasportes、シアタークリッパ主宰(イスラエル)Idit Herman、ひだりにはんぽ（三浦ゆかり・佐藤昌枝）等の作品にもダンサーとして参加、2010年本人主宰のダンスカンパニー“ハポネンズ”を結成、Hong Kong People’s Fringe Festival 2013に参加するなど、老若男女に愛される個性的なダンス作品創作に励みながら国内外で精力的に活動中。2012年ヨーロッパ・ドイツのダンスシーン模索のためドイツ/ベルリンへ移住。2012〜13年映像作家/梶村昌世と“between islands”プロジェクトでヨーロッパを中心に多国（ドイツ、パリ、ポーランド、エストニア、日本等）で公演。その他、映像作家/瀧健太郎、映画監督/武子直樹、音楽家/齋藤徹、Romain Kronenberg、Oliver Marquardt、画家/宮内博史など他ジャンルとのコラボレーションも積極的に行う。2013年ピナバウシュヴッパタール舞踊団ダンサーのジャンローランサスポーテステクニックを取得。2014年 福岡ダンスフリンジフェスティバルにて観客賞受賞。ベルリンにてダンスと並行して合気道・気の道を始め、身体の構造への興味が深くなり、2014年Premium 3D stretchの資格を取得。また、corego認証のREGO stretchトレーナー取得。
Maiko Date is a Japanese contemporary dancer, and started her career in contemporary dance at high school. She continued to study contemporary dance under Naoko Ito in Tokyo, and in 2003 joined the Tokyo based dance company Mademoiselle Cinema. She has toured widely with the company, e.g. Germany, France, Bulgaria, Portugal, Austria. The dance piece “La place mystérieuse” won the Newcomer’s Dance Choreography Award of the Japanese Ministry of Culture in 2008. And Audience Award at the Festival / International Shetsukobanie 2011 Poland / Gryfino 2011.
She also appeared in dance pieces by Jean-Laurent Sasportes, a dancer of Pina Bausch, by Idit Herman, director of Theater Clipa (Israel),by Yukari Miura and Masae Satoh. In 2010, she funded her own dance company Japonens, their join to Hong Kong People’s Fringe Festival 2013 and has presented energetic pieces.
In 2012 she moved to Berlin/Germany to explore the contemporary dance scene in Germany and Europe. In 2012~2013 she has produced with Masayo Kajimura the Video dance performance “between islands” in many countries, e.g. Germany, Poland, Estonia France, Japan.She also collaborates with other art genres, such as musician, and has produced together with the music Tetsu Sitoh, Romain Kronenberg, Oliver Marquardt the Music video, with the Video artist Kentaro Taki the video dance performance, with painter Hirofumi Miyauchi the art dance performance.
In 2013 she got technic of Jean-Laurent Sasportes. In 2014 she won an Audience Award at the Fukuoka Dance Fringe Festival. Currently she got a qualification of “Premium 3D stretch”.
